My love affair with the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels began 24 years ago while I was visiting a friend in the hospital. I was smitten with this little dog immediately, his name was Murphy and he was there doing therapy work. I was not ready for a dog at that point, but never forgot him. 3 years later I was ready to find a puppy. I was put in touch with Barbara Grimm-Curley. I knew that I wanted a Black & Tan girl that I would be able to show. I waited patiently(she nor my husband would not say that) for 2 years for the right dog to come along that she thought would be worthy of showing. I drove 7 hours to get her, and it was love at first sight.
My very first show with Jazz was some of the most fun that I had ever had, she won her class both days, and best black & tan in show. I was bitten by the show bug. With Barb's mentoring me along the way I continued to have success showing my Jazz, but I wanted more. I then contacted Barb in search of another show puppy, because as the saying goes you can't just have one! A few months later, Blaze a 4 month old tri color boy came into my life. From there I never looked back, I showed more in the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club (CKCSC) a bit in the AKC, and started my breeding program with Jazz as my foundation bitch.
My breeding philosophy is quite simple. I look to breed healthy, well adjusted and beautiful cavalier puppies that best exemplify the true cavalier temperament, outgoing and affectionate. The way that I accomplish this is with selective breeding, based on the health history of the parents.
I am currently a director on the Cavaliers of the Northeast and the Vice President of the CKCSC National Board. I still show regularly in CKCSC and occasionally in the AKC. I live in beautiful Charlotte, VT with my husband, children and cavaliers. If you are interested in visiting or just talking about our cavaliers please give me a call at (802) 598-2887.
Sincerely,
